Full Day Great Barrier Reef Cruises to Fitzroy Island lets you experience the rainforest, the reef and a tropical island all in the one day from Cairns Australia.
Rather than losing hours of your holiday in travel time, our full day Great Barrier Reef cruises aboard our fast catamaran take only 45 minutes and travel along the coastline rather then heading out into the open ocean.
“We regularly visit Fitzroy Island as it is one of our favourite places for a family day out! The boat, food and staff are also fantastic and I can highly recommend a hike to the summit to take in the incredible views with a snorkel afterwards to cool off!”
“We had a wonderful day. Lots of good snorkeling - nice reefs toward the rocks, a lot of fish at Nudey beach. We enjoyed the turtle rehabilitation center. A little hike to Nudey beach - wish we made more time to spend there. What I liked about Raging Thunder are their times of departure and arrival. Very convenient for us. Also, their staff was extremely friendly with great service.”
“Beautiful place, the staff was very kind, excellent snorkeling gear and beach gear (kayaks and sups), good lunch, had a great time.”
“Brilliant day spent on the island. My trip included snorkelling gear. You can hire kayaks and paddle boards on the island.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the day. The map given on check-in was helpful to show you where everything was.
The island itself is absolutely stunning the day trip definitely worth it. Would definitely book again with Fitzroy Island Adventures.”
What is Fitzroy Island?
Unlike smaller coral cays or sandy islands on the Great Barrier Reef, Fitzroy was once part of mainland Australia. The island is largely untouched and a protected National Park, with walking tracks through the rainforest, heathland and open forest to Nudey Beach and the Summit.
Home of Nudey Beach
Nudey Beach on the Island was #1 top-ranked spot on Brad Farmer’s list of Australia’s 101 Best Beaches for 2018.
Mr Farmer said Nudey Beach is “probably the loveliest island we have where a lush, protected rainforest meets a colourful reef – and it’s the Great Barrier Reef”.
The founder of Ocean Care Day and the Surfriders Foundation, Mr Farmer spent five months researching Australia’s 11,761 beaches to compile his list.
